Dear FreeBSD Community, The FreeBSD project is pleased to announce that the 2026 FreeBSD Core Team election has concluded, and the following nine members now take office as the fourteenth Core Team: Warner Losh (imp), Baptiste Daroussin (bapt), Gleb Smirnoff (glebius), Kyle Evans (kevans), Adrian Chadd (adrian), Joseph Mingrone (jrm), Hiroki Sato (hrs), Adam Weinberger (adamw), and Olivier Cochard (olivier) This year, the election also included a vote to amend the project's bylaws. This motion also passed, with the new bylaws tentatively taking effect as of the 2028 election at the discretion of the incoming core team. The new core team needs time to work out the details of a smooth transition between the two bylaws and will share the plan shortly. The new text has been published below the currently active bylaws at https://www.freebsd.org/internal/bylaws/. Let's extend our gratitude to the outgoing core.13 members for their service in the last two-year term: Li-Wen Hsu (lwhsu), Allan Jude (allanjude), Tobias C. Berner (tcberner), Dave Cottlehuber (dch), and Mathieu Arnold (mat), and also to Dag-Erling Smørgrav (des) for running a flawless election. To read about the responsibilities of the Core Team, refer to https://www.freebsd.org/administration.html#t-core Thanks, Kyle Evans (on behalf of core.14)
