[opensuse-announce] Tumbleweed - Review of the week (2015/20)

Dear Tumbleweed users and hackers,

Week 20 has been a very busy one, and we only got you very few
snapshots this week. The update comes a bit later, but it manages to
include also the change that was just released on the weekend.

There are two big changes that happened this week:

* Ruby has been updated to version 2.2 and is now the default ruby
version inside Tumbleweed.
* KDE Plasma 5 is the new default, replacing KDE 4 in Tumbleweed. We
understand that this is controversal to some of the users, and others
very much welcome the change. Please ensure to constructively report
your issues to the KDE Team (either here on list for dicscussion or by
means of bug reports at https://bugzilla.opensuse.org).

The currently larger change being prepared is a switch of the compiler
to GCC 5.0. There are still packages failing that are part of the core
set (See
https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/openSUSE:Factory:Staging:A )
Once all this has been solved, I'm sure we'll also see this change
happen for Tumbleweed.
